All COZY despite a few bumps – Mommy and Me Hats

Hey Luvs! Hope you all had a great weekend! Kevin, Molly, Owen and I had a great time. We had family in town visiting which was so nice. We went and saw Santa, visited some fun festive spots in LA to get in the holiday spirit, and just enjoyed some chill time with family at home. There were definitely a few stressful things that went on too, as sadly it looks like we might have to cancel our trip home for Christmas due to some unforeseen problems with renting our old home before we move into the new one. I won’t get into all the details until we figure it out, but it’s definitely weighing heavily on my mind and heart right now.

So since I was feeling pretty down in the dumps this morning (yesterday morning if you are reading this on Monday), Kevin planned a fun little family outing to the farmers market and we just strolled around in our soon to be new neighborhood. Yes, we will eventually move into our new house. We’re just waiting for the city to turn on the gas. Another long story! If anyone has a personal contact as Socal Gas they could put me in touch with, I would be sooo appreciative!

And of course my little snuggle muffin Molly totally lifted my spirits today! How fun and cute are our matching hats?! I used to buy actual mommy and baby sized matching hats. But now that she’s getting older and her head is so big (Ha! Cause she’s so smart!) I am just able to buy her adult size hats and they fit her pretty well. Plus I think the oversized look on her is just too stinking adorable! So, I just bought us matching beanies from Nordstrom. They were super affordable only $15 each. Last I checked, our actual beanies sold out, but I found a super similar one by the exact same brand for only $15 HERE. In fact, Nordstrom has a ton of cute beanies that are under $20. Sharing a few of my favorites below…

Speaking of great accessories, I also got my scarf from Nordstrom for under $25. It’s still in stock but I doubt it will be for much longer cause it’s ridiculously cute! Also it doesn’t have too much bulk so it looks really cute and flattering. I don’t know why, but sometimes I feel like scarves can put so much bulk around my neck that it’s not flattering. This one gives me the warmth I want in a scarf, but is also very flattering. And it’s on sale for $12!!!! Snatch it up before it sells out!

And I know it’s not even Christmas yet, but I’m all done with my holiday shopping so I’m totally focused on all the cozy warm sweaters I’m going to be wearing this January! January actually tends to be the coldest month of the year in LA and it’s perfect sweater weather! I love the neutral color of the sweater I’m wearing but it still has a ton of very subtle colors all throughout it. It’s only left in limited sizes so make sure you snatch it up now if you like it! One of my other favorite sweaters from Nordstrom is this Leith sweater. It’s under $60 and I’m absolutely obsessed with it! I own it in both blush and red. I added photos of me wearing that sweater below so you can see it. It’s super flattering and such a cozy sweater for the winter!

Anyway guys, just wanted to share details on this super cute look! Hope you guys love it! Wish us luck on our housing situation. We really need all the luck we can get right now!

      1. Ali,
Buying a house is rated one of the top most stressful situations the average person does in America. Being stressed is completely normal for what you are embracing. In the end it’s worth it because you are doing what is right for your family. Keep your head up… this too shall pass. Merry Christmas!

  2. I hope you can continue to rent your current house until your new house is ready so you can head to MA for Christmas! I’m sad for you because you’ve probably already bought your plane tickets and have been so excited to see your family in MA! Love you in the red sweater, Ali! Darling pics of you and Molly! Glad you shared good times with Kevin’s parents!❤️🎄❤️

  3. First time commenting! 🙂 I just wanted to say that I have been following you for some time now and I love how adorable your family is! I also love how most of the things you share are super affordable and obviously totally cute! Molly is just so adorable and she seems like the happiest little lady. Best of luck with all your new house stuff. It’s so stressful, but it’s only a little bump in the road 🙂 I hope you you get to see your family one way or another!

  5. What size in did you get in the Leith sweater? Is it a looser fitting sweater? I really hope things work out and you don’t have to cancel your trip!

    1. I got a size medium in the Leith sweater. It is a loose fit but still has “fit” and structure if that makes sense. I would stick to your normal size for this one. It’s a GREAT sweater!

    1. My hormones are definitely getting the best of me some days. And I’m just emotional about leaving this house abruptly. We love this house so much and wanted to leave properly.

  16. Hi Ali

This is my first time that I reply! Im from South Africa and followed you since Bachelorette! I love your fashion tips and would love to purchase some of the items from time to time but it is such a hassle to get thw goods in SA and sometimes takes 3 months and only to hear that the items is lost ! I also love to read your family updates. My daughter and I watched the Bachelorette together and we just loved you. So happy you found your man Kevin and that cute little Molly and not even to talk about that cute doggy Owen! Good luck with the new house 🏡 I trust that your problems will be sorted soon! Have a blessed Christmas 🎄 with your cute little family! Love 💗 all the way from sunny ☀️ Johannesburg- South Africa 🇿🇦!

  17. I have always loved you since the Bachelorette and have read your blogs as well. Breathe in, breathe out and let yourself relax and everything will work out. I love seeing your pictures of Molly, and your fur baby too.
    Merry Christmas to you.

  18. Hi Ali!

Just wanted to encourage you–moving is so stressful; especially with a little one and pregnant! I was pregnant with my youngest and had a 2 year old running around for one of our moves! We also moved again this year and I have say that it certainly made our family stronger. The kiddos are older and were able to join in on the fun, and stress!
    All will be well, soon!

Absolutely love any video of Molly that you post on instagram-she is precious!

  19. I hope everything works out! These things tend to work out somehow 🙂 What area did you decide to move to? Did you take the plunge to Pasadena?
