Affordable Friday – Five Looks Under $20

Happy affordable Friday, guys! See this glass of wine I’m holding in this first group of pictures? It is much needed for me this week! To be completely honest with you guys, it’s been a rough week for me. I just tried to take on too much and ended up feeling completely and utterly overwhelmed! I need to learn when I’m pushing myself too far and be able to take a step back, a deep breath, and pour myself a glass of wine. So that’s exactly what I’m doing today! And I’m not even ashamed to admit I plan on pouring my glass well before 5 PM.

1. LIGHT BLUE DRESS

Anyway, one thing I wanted to do for you guys before I close out the week is post this affordable Friday blog post! I’m really trying to do these as much as possible because I I truly believe that you don’t have to spend a ton of money to feel great in your clothes.

So today I’m sharing five affordable Friday looks from Walmart, and every piece I’m wearing is under $20!

Look One

Starting with this really cute blue $18 dress. Of course I love the color of the dress. Light blue and blush are my two favorite colors – as you can probably tell from my Instagram account. I just think this is a cute and simple dress for summer. If you’re between sizes, I would size up on this one.

And I would also size up if you have curvy hips like I do. I’m wearing a size medium in these photos. But it is slightly snug on my hips. Also, as you can see from these photos it’s a bit loose around the rib cage. This is meant to have a looser fit/look. Which makes it great to dress down or up!

I paired it with a pair of blush pumps because I like the color combo and I think it made the look extra fun and perfect for spring!

The dress is by Love Sadie and I got it from Walmart. I always hit up Walmart for cute clothes that are super affordable! And I really like this brand in general. And I will link a few more dresses by Love Sadie below that I think are really cute.

In fact, I actually wore a pink/rust dress by this brand on an affordable Friday post a few weeks ago that was only $13. It’s still available and has great reviews. I will link it here again for those that missed out on that last post.

1. MY DRESS | 2. MOLLY’S DRESS

And yes, everything in this post is from Walmart! I’m honestly so impressed by the quality of clothes from Walmart. I am always able to find the cutest stuff at crazy good prices. Plus if you spend $35 you get free shipping!

Look Two

This next look is much more simple but I had to share it because of how inexpensive it is! The entire outfit is only $10! That’s right! The shorts are five dollars and the tee is only 5 dollars.

1. PINK TEE | 2. RAINBOW SHORTS

You guys know how much I love a good T-shirt. And I really needed a pretty blush color tee and had been searching everywhere online and decided to take a gamble on this one because why not for $5 (it comes in a bunch of other colors too!). I cannot even tell you how much I love this tee! I’m wearing a small. I usually get a size medium when I buy T-shirts. But I wanted this to have a little bit more of a fitted feel so I sized down. And I just think the color is so pretty.

You guys may recognize it because I was wearing it in my Instagram stories the other night and tragically spilled my red wine all over it! So many of you gave me great advice for how to get red wine out of clothes, but I was so exhausted that I just threw it in the sink with some water and went to bed. Plus, I had to focus on the red wine I spilled on my white couch! The t-shirt is still in my sink right now FYI. That’s mom life for you. Always getting to your own stuff last. But when I get around to it, if I can’t get the wine stains out, that’s fine by me because I’ll just buy another one! It’s only five dollars! I spend more than that on my coffee in the morning sometimes. And if you are wondering, I DID get the white wine out of my couch. Which was A LOT more than $5. Ha! So thank goodness for that!

I think my shorts are really cute and fun for summer. I’m pretty sure they are junior sizes so I got a size large because I have a booty and hips! So I would say if you like the shorts, size up for sure! And they sit very low on your hips FYI!

Look Three

This next look is ridiculously cute and only $9! When I got this dress in the mail, my jaw just about dropped because I loved it so much! I’m wearing a size medium, but you might want to size up in this one. I’m a little worried that when I wash this, it might be too small. But we’ll see.

1. FLORAL DRESS FOR UNDER $10

The cut is super cute and flattering too! I posted a photo of me wearing this dress earlier in the week and it almost sold out! Well, it actually did sell out in this color. But there’s one color left and I love it! I almost bought the color that’s left instead of the one I bought. I just think it will look really pretty with a summer tan. So snatch it up because you really can’t beat a cute dress like this for under 10 bucks!

1. FLORAL DRESS FOR UNDER $10

Look Four

This cherry tank is so stinking cute and only $5! I wish they made it in solid white too because I really need a blouse-like white cami right now. Oh well, the cherry print is just darling. I got a size medium which is my normal size. But if you’re in between sizes I would size up. Also, if you have a larger chest you might want to size up.

1. CHERRY TANK

I feel like this could be really cute to wear to work with a pair of high-waisted jeans and a blazer.

Look Five

OK this last one isn’t really a look. But it’s a two pack of tank tops for $4.50! I got the tank I’m wearing below and a white tank in the two pack. So essentially each tank top was only $2.25. A white ribbed tank top is always good just to have in general. I’ll wear them to bed or lounging around the house. And also to work out. Or in the summertime with a pair of jean shorts. And I just love the print on the one I’m wearing. I think it’s fun and easy to throw on.

1. TWO PACK OF TANKS

Well I’m pretty excited to end my affordable Friday on a $2.25 tank! It feels like a victory for me! Ha! What do you guys think about these looks?! Let me know if you have any questions about any of them and please let me know if you bought anything from my past affordable Friday looks! I’d love to know what you think!

I hope this post, and all my other affordable Friday posts, help you guys realize that you don’t have to spend a lot to have cute clothes!

And FYI I just bought the below pieces. The green dress is only $6!!!!! What?!? I will let you guys know what it’s like when I get it! And the floral dress is only $20!

UPDATE: I got the green dress in the mail and it is STUNNING!!!!! Ahhhhhh! I can’t believe how much I love it and I can’t believe it was as much as my morning latte!

Thank you Walmart for having great affordable clothes and for teaming up with me on this post!

  2. Ali, I live these looks!! So effortless and such great deals!! Totally gonna hit up Walmart. I had no idea. Also, will you do a blog post on Mom Jean shorts? I need help. I like the frayed, destructed Jean shorts, but I dont want them so crazy short! Where can I find some that are on trend but not cheeky and not too pricey?

    1. I need to find a good pair too! No suggestions from me right now. But I will look for some! And let me know if you find anything good!

      1. Jean shorts can be tricky!! I had great luck at Oldnavy.com. They have some frayed and some cuffed…not too short, comfortable (and affordable!) Best I’ve found!!! Hope this helps 😊

  3. Thanks for another great post. The dresses are perfect for summer. I love how kind you are on your blog, it’s so rare to see on social media.

Re: feeling overwhelmed, I feel the same way all the time and Tonya Dalton’s podcast, Productivity Paradox has really helped me as a working mom.

  7. Thank you for these posts, Ali! Most of the blogs I read only post about clothes that are wayyy out of my price range. I know I can always count on you to find cute clothes that I can actually buy! Happy Mother’s Day <3

I love the rug in your bedroom. I’ve looked all through your blog and don’t see it linked. Would you mind sharing where it’s from?
Happy Mother’s Day to you! 😘

  11. I had to share this!! I called my sister this morning as I usually do on my way to work to chat. Her girls are 3 and 6, and she was talking to them in this weird “customer service” type voice. You know the kind someone uses when they are trying too hard to be polite! I asked why she sounded so weird…her response was “I’m trying to yell less. Did you see Ali’s instastory last week? She was sobbing bc she yelled at her daughter! I yell so much now that I don’t even feel badly when I do it!!” We both had a good laugh!! Keep being you, Ali!! You are SO relatable to all of us Mom’s our here just trying our best!!

  12. I bought the green dress on Saturday and got it today! Absolutely love it! Can’t believe it was only $6!! I love your shopping suggestions! Thank you!

  13. Found this as I was searching something for my mom.

    5 Worst Bachelorette Leads Ever:

Unfortunately, some of these romantic leading ladies left more to be desired and let we the people of Bachelor Nation, down big time! This list takes a look at some of the worst Bachelorette leads ever!

    4. Kaitlyn Bristowe

Kaitlyn Bristowe was both loved and hated by Bachelorette fans across the nation, but was a clear choice for this list because of the vast amount of heat she took for hooking up with the villainous Nick Viall! Not only did she let him join her season part way through, she also went all the way with him pretty early on, to many fans dismay. He remained as a competitor in the top two, alongside the snore-fest personal trainer, Shawn Booth. And these cats had nothing but sheer animosity for one another! While that was amusing to watch, it proved that both men were less than gentlemanly and quite clearly immature. Kaitlyn wound up choosing Shawn! Zzzz… Bachelor Nation is dozing off with you!

    3. Ali Fedotowsky

Ali Fedotowsky seemed lovable…at first. After appearing on Jake Pavelka’s season and proving her dedication to her career, she seemed like the obvious choice to be the bachelorette. Unfortunately, her season was lacklustre and Ali only proved that she was a whiny drama queen. She’s gone onto become one of the most successful Bachelorette contestants of all-time with a career in show biz, but her all-American girl image is no longer and we all know she’s moody and annoying!
