A Weekend Filled with Love and Family

Hi guys! How are all of you? I am truly feeling wonderful. Have my pregnancy aches gone away? Well no. They are as strong as ever but my heart is full! This is such a special weekend for my family and we are all bursting with love!

As you might have read in one of my social posts, my in-laws arrived in town yesterday. We’re so excited that they’re here for multiple reasons. One, we just obviously love them and love spending time with them. Two, they’re so helpful with Molly which we definitely need right now with how pregnant I am. And three, if this baby comes while they’re here, they’ll not only get to see him right away but we’ll have built-in babysitters to help with Molly! Which is why I got a rental car for them through Silvercar – with a carseat – which I’ll get to in a minute.

I will say though, I really need this baby to hold off on coming until after Saturday. And that’s because I’m a bridesmaid in my brother-in-law’s wedding on Saturday! I feel honored to be standing next to my future sister-in-law while she marries Kevin’s brother and I certainly don’t want my water to break and ruin the moment while we’re standing up there. Ha! It’s also going to be quite the site to see me waddling down the aisle as a bridesmaid. I haven’t seen the venue yet so I’m not sure how long the aisle is, but I’m hoping not too long! I’ve already told Kevin that if I start getting contractions while I’m standing up there, I’m going to act like nothing is happening. I’m definitely going to be nervous all day hoping and praying that the baby holds off until at least Sunday.

Speaking of Sunday, that’s Mother’s Day! What a beautiful Mother’s Day gift that would be if he decided to come that day. I’m pretty excited that my mother-in-law will be in town and we can all celebrate together. I just wish my own mother were here too. But she will come out soon after the baby is born so I will see her very soon!

So as you can see, this is a very special weekend for our family. Yesterday when my in-laws arrived the first thing we had to do was get a rental car. We have so much family in town this weekend that we had to get another car so everybody can get to the venue. But of course we didn’t think about this until the night before. Luckily, I knew we could easily use the Silvercar app to rent a car. If you ever have to rent a car, you have to use this app! There are no lines when you go to pick up your car, no paperwork to fill out and each car comes complete with premium features at no extra cost. And you get to feel extra fancy because all of their cars are Audi’s.

Also, when we booked they give us the option to add a car seat to our reservation at no extra charge. At first I wasn’t going to have a car seat since we already have one in our cars for Molly, but then we realized that if we had to rush off to the hospital and Kevin’s parents take Molly, they’ll need it. So I was just blown away by the convenience of that. And not only was the car seat a premium seat, but it was also super clean. It honestly looks brand new! It really might be.

Anyway, I don’t think I’ll ever rent from another car company. Silvercar’s process is just so easy and convenient. I’ve legit waited in lines at car rental places for over an hour after a long flight and it’s just the worst. Plus, once we start flying with two kids, there is absolutely no way you’re going to catch me lugging two car seats onto an airplane. Lugging Molly‘s car seat to the airport is hard enough, so I really can’t imagine doing it with two of them. And if you guys want to try them out I have a code for you to use. Use my code ALILUVS to get 25% off your first rental! Which is a pretty sweet deal! Pass my code along to anyone you know traveling so they can use it!

OK OK, I’m way too excited about this rental company that I forgot to tell you what we did with the rest of our day yesterday. After we got the rental car, we came back to our house and showed off the early stages of our home design to Kevin’s parents. We still aren’t done with the house yet. But it was fun to show them the progress that we’ve made furnishing the place. Don’t worry, once it’s all done I’ll do a full house tour for all of you too!

After that, we actually did a little sightseeing! Since I’m officially on maternity leave it’s pretty fun to be able to do whatever we want during the day. We went to Universal and checked out some of the sets, we got ice cream and really we just watched Molly walk around the neighborhood and smell every flower she could find. Have you watched mine or Kevin‘s Instagram stories where Molly stops to smell every single flower she walks by? It’s the cutest thing ever!

So anyway, as you can see my time with family has already been so special and this weekend is going to be filled with so much love that my heart can barely take it! I know you guys know that my pregnancy hasn’t been easy up until now and I just feel extremely grateful that in my final days of pregnancy I get to be surrounded by so many of the people that I love.

What are you guys doing this Mother’s Day weekend?! How are you spoiling the moms in your life?! I’d love to hear all of your stories about your wonderful families and how you plan to spend this weekend!

    1. Ha! I hope he is WAY too comfy in there to come this weekend! I thought I would be ready after the wedding. But now I’m actually hoping he stays in there a bit longer! I feel like I have so much to do still!

  4. There is nothing better than being surrounded by family!! Wishing all of you a wonderful weekend. So glad to see you so happy!!!!

  5. I settled down the aisle in my brothers wedding 6 days before my first daughter was born. (In a pink strapless dress). I was so nervous the whole time that I was going to be in labor during the wedding. I didn’t want to steal the spotlight (first grandchild), but I wanted the baby out!
But, how wonderful it was to have all of the extended family in town to meet my sweet baby soon after she was born.
Best of luck this weekend! I am sure you will rock your bridesmaid dress.

    1. So glad the baby held out and that family was still in town once your little girl arrived! So wonderful!

  6. I hope everything turns out the way you want it and Gods plans it!! Have a beautiful weekend and make more treasured memories! Your pictures are great!! My son is taking me away for the weekend to Traverse City Mi. Some much needed one on one time with him. Im so excited to spend this time with just him and in a beautiful place in Michigan. I think some wine tasting at the vinyard sounds fun! Happy Mothers Day Ali!!

    1. Awwww LOVE that you son is doing that! I hope you guys have a wonderful time! I can’t WAIT until I can have a glass of wine again!

  7. Happy Wedding Weekend to Kevin’s brother and his bride and Happy Mother’s Day to you, Ali! I hope your baby holds off coming until at least Sunday! ❤️🍼❤️
I thought of a few more boy names, trying to share names that will not immediately be shortened to a nick name. How about Colby, Greg or Hank? I love so many boy names and have already suggested probably a dozen to you so far! I love boys! I have three older brothers: Macgregor, Duncan and Kirk, two sons: Kirk and Alex, and five nephews: Morgan, Andrew (Andy), Scott, Peter, Brock and Theodore (Teddy). Maybe you will like one of those names, but I think many have been suggested and some just don’t meet your criteria.

    1. Thank you Liz! Soooo appreciate the suggestions! We STILL don’t have a set name! Eekkk! But we do have a few that we like and we are hoping one will feel right when we see him for the first time!

  8. My daughter was born last year on Mother’s Day…best gift ever!! And now she’ll be one on Monday ❤️

  9. Hi Ali! I hope you have a wonderful weekend with family for your brother-in-law’s wedding and Mother’s Day. When I was pregnant with my daughter, I remember wanting her to stay in the womb for as long as possible. I felt like as long as I wasn’t terribly uncomfortable it and it was safe for her that it was good for her fetal development. Plus I wanted to put off newborn sleep deprivation for me. 😆 Happy Mother’s Day!

    1. As of now I don’t feel in a rush for hm to come. EVvn though I am HUGE and very uncomfortable…I know what’s coming since I’ve done it once before 😉 But I just have this feeling he will be here within 10 days.

  10. Happy early Mother’s Day, Ali! I love your positivity. It’s infectious! I hope your little boy arrives Sunday. That would be amazing. Quick question. Where is Molly’s adorable little romper from?

  11. Love the sounds of your weekend .. you look amazing and can’t wait to see pictures of that precious baby boy .. my mother’s day will be different as son in hospital 56 days now so be a hospital Mother’s day … but we will still enjoy being together .. have a very wonderful mother’s day 💐💗

  12. What a fun weekend! Congratulations to the future mr and mrs! I hope baby boy holds off one more day for you. It has truly been a privledge to watch Molly grow, I can’t believe how big she is getting❤️ We will be doing a mother’s day brunch.

    1. It blows my mind everyday how big Molly is getting! I can’t believe she won’t be my littlest baby anymore!

Have a wonderful Mother’s Day brunch!

  13. We just moved to CO from AZ and it will be my first Mother’s Day without either of my girls or my Mom. 🙁
I’m going to live vicariously through the wonderful weekend you will have. <3 Have fun!
    xo

  14. You look do great and happy Ali! Happy Mother’s Day to you and thank you for helping all us mommas on our journey through the most amazing experience of our lives. It is a blessing. My daughter will be 2 on July 1st and boy has the time flown! I’ve really enjoyed reading your blog along the way since Molly is almost exactly the same age! Before I had her and I was working I used to listen to Kevin and Jill in the morning on the radio so it’s fun to hear that Jill is getting married tomorrow! What a wonderful time in your family’s lives!

  15. Aaawww enjoy your wedding weekend! Hope the oil one holds off til after the wedding lol. A year ago this time I was in your shoes: a million weeks preggo, a family wedding and anxiety my baby boy would come early! He did wait, wayyy over his due date in the end. Ha!
This mother’s day we’ll just spend time with family, with my mom and grandma. Today we went for a Mother’s day family a photo shoot with my boy, my sis and my mom. It was a beautiful way to create memories of my first Mother’s Day 💕

  16. Hi Ali,
I hope you and your family have a wonderful weekend! Maybe the baby will make an appearance while your In-Laws are in town, fingers-crossed!

  17. Have a great weekend and a very special Mother’s Day! Would be a great day to have a baby…. but any day is a special day when you have a healthy baby!
    👶 🍼
    I love reading your Blogs!

  18. Ali I can so relate! I’m in my brother’s weekend next weekend and will be 40 weeks pregnant (if I make it that long)! I have a daughter Molly’s age and am expecting a little boy. When my future sister-in-law asked me to be a bridesmaid, I gave her a warning that my husband and I were trying (even though I was already 4 weeks pregnant) and she insisted I be in the wedding if I felt comfortable to do so. My husband is the groomsman I walk down the aisle with and I told him I want to fake my water breaking when we’re introduced at the reception, he said no! I do how ever plan to dance this baby boy out!

  19. Oh my goodness I hope your water doesn’t break in public! 😆😆😆 I also had polyhydramnios and my water broke while I was in the hospital waiting room and the nurses said it was “like Niagara Falls”! They had to call in extra help to come bring more towels, it was sooooo hilarious. It was SO MUCH FLUID! Instant relief from the pressure and tightness, let me tell you!

  20. Hi Ali! Happy Mother’s Day to you!! ❤️ I have been following you on Instagram for about a year now, and just recently came to your blog and it has honestly really helped me through a lot. I first encountered you by following Kevin because I started listening to the morning show he does on the radio right when he had started there. You two are amazing parents and I love watching the videos of Molly. I recently had a miscarriage and before that I would always come on your blog to see your new posts about pregnancy finds and advice. When I lost my baby it was so hard but one of the things that helps me feel better is watching the Instagram videos you two post of Molly. She’s such a happy baby and makes me laugh. You two are so blessed. I hope you enjoy your weekend and sending you positive vibes for a safe delivery. This weekend for Mother’s day, we are gathering to celebrate my mother, who just finished battling cancer; so it’s extra special for us this year! Anyway, thank you so much for opening up your life so much to us and sharing so much positivity. I hope you know how much it helps people who may be going through current struggles. Take care!!

  21. Happy Mother’s Day, Ali!! 💐 Hoping you all enjoy the wedding (with the only waterworks being tears of happiness for the new Mr. and Mrs!!)

As a mom, Mother’s Day is always a special day but mine will be extra special this year and I’m hoping the same for you! My oldest son will be celebrating his 8th birthday on Sunday so we will get to celebrate together!! He’s the one who made me a mommy so there’s always that extra specialness when it falls on Mother’s Day! Enjoy yours and maybe baby Manno will share a birthday with my little guy! 👶🏻

  22. No plans for Mother’s Day…I’ve been very fortunate to spend time with my “children” lately. My daughter graduates from college in a week and we’ve been to events and award ceremonies the past few weeks. And I have been spending more time with my son who asked us to assist him in picking out an engagement ring. He proposed and now we spend time talking about a wedding! Couldn’t ask for more with adult children!!! I’ll take as much time as they can give me whenever they can give it to me! Have a fantastic Mother’s Day! Enjoy Jill and Ryan’s wedding and all your family! It just doesn’t get any better!! 💖

  23. Ali it sounds like a full weekend for you. Hopefully you can relax tomorrow and let everyone wait on you. My 18 month old Emma has started preschool and it’s so hard to see her grow when I just want to hold her but I let her run. We are celebrating mother’s day tomorrow with dinner with my mom and my brothers girlfriend who is a mom and my aunt

  24. Looks like it was a wonderful weekend! Where was Molly’s flower girl dress from? My BFF is getting married in October and this would be perfect for their daughter. I showed her and she loved it!

    Thank you ❤️

  25. Which did you have a bigger belly with Molly or baby boy? It seems like your boy was a bigger belly
