Little White Dress

What a weekend! We had a bunch of work done on the house on Saturday, then my best friend Stef came up from San Diego Saturday evening to spend the night and then on Sunday we celebrated baby boy Manno! I honestly almost didn’t even have a sprinkle for this baby. We’ve been so busy lately that I haven’t had any time to even think about a sprinkle, never mind plan one. But my amazing friend Leila Lewis took the reins and planned it for me which was so special. I’ll have a whole blog post about it next week! And it will be in this coming weeks issue of People magazine! So make sure to pick up a copy! Can’t wait to share all the details with you.

And I want to thank you guys for all your advice on what dress to wear. I shared the five dresses below with all of you and asked which one I should wear.

In the end I went with the Rachel Pally maxi dress with the navy palm tree print. I think it just fit the theme best which is why I chose it. Plus it was really comfortable! However, I almost went with the white dress I’m wearing in these pictures. In fact, I had this dress on and was headed out the door, hence these photos, and then last minute decided to change. Because one, I wanted to wear flats to the beach (which is where my shower was). And two, last minute I had a change of heart and decided to wear blue instead of white to the shower. This little white dress would’ve totally worked though. I was just going to tie a blue ribbon in my hair.

Honestly, I went back-and-forth so much between the two dresses that I kind of wish I could’ve worn both somehow! One thing I love about this white dress is that it’s actually not a maternity dress. I cannot wait to wear it when I’m not pregnant! I mean, I think it looks super cute with my bump, but I think it will look even better and more flattering when I don’t have this big belly underneath it. I absolutely love the white linen material and I just think it’s so girly and flirty. And how cute is the bow in the back!? I just think it’s so darling! I’m wearing a medium FYI.

And I’m pretty pumped about these new shoes I just got. Yes, I know what you’re thinking – how could I wear such a high heel when I’m pregnant? But the truth is block heels are just so much more comfortable than the stilettos, so it’s really not bad. And I thought with all the fabric in the dress, along with my big belly, I needed some height. The shoes that I’m wearing come in a couple different neutral colors as well as a bunch of other colors! They’re just a great staple you have to have in your closet to wear all spring and summer long.

My purse couldn’t be more perfect for the dress. It just screams spring time, and when we took these photos I couldn’t help but throw some tulips in there.

Now that I think of it, I think my earrings couldn’t be more perfect with the dress either. I love the white on white and the style of the earring is cute and playful to go with the dress. I added a big floppy sun hat and the look is complete!

In fact, now that I’m writing about this outfit and looking at these pictures, I almost wish I did wear this to my baby shower! Don’t get me wrong, I really love the other dress I wore too, but I just love everything about this look. Like I said above, I can’t wait to wear it after the baby comes!

Anyway, today I’m off to the Steve Harvey show to be a part of one of his panels. I believe it airs tomorrow. I’m pretty excited about it! I still have to pinch myself every day when I realize I get to do all this for a living. I feel so fortunate and it’s not lost on me how lucky I truly am. Hope you guys tune in!

  1. Super cute, your maternity suggestions have been SO helpful for me as I am pregnant with my first. I have my baby shower coming up in June (just 20 weeks now) and think this dress would be perfect. I am pretty similar size to you, did you get your normal medium, or did you size up in this?

    1. Hey! I’m normally a medium in clothes and because of the super high waist on this dress, the medium worked for me! So go with your normal size!

  2. Ali,
Thanks for sharing pictures and videos of your sprinkle.
How cute is Molly having her brothers clothes and shoes on. Lmaso! Sooo cute! She’s too funny! 😛

    Be blessed,
    di 🙂

  3. You sparkled at your sprinkle shower.
    I’m a hat gal too.
Molly’s a funny little sugar cube.

  4. You look beautiful in both dresses. Hop you had a great time at BabyBoy’s Sprinkle. He will be here before you know it.

  5. Your sprinkle looked so beautiful! That’s so nice that your friends organized it for you. Looking forward to finding it in People to read more about it. P.S. Love your blog and instastories although it’s my first time commenting 🙂

  6. You look beautiful Allie, love that you wear white even in maternity clothes.

Now that I have little girl (17 months) I find myself wearing light colors pinks, whites, yellow. I used to wear more black, but now I want to match baby dressed in pink. It also changed my mood 🌸💕 mommy love

  7. Hey Ali! Did you do a registry for your sprinkle ? I am expecting baby 2 (a girl) in June and my oldest (a boy) is Molly’s age. My friends are throwing me a sprinkle and asked if i was registered and I was not originally but then I set up a small one with just a few items (mostly a few newborn girls onesies) and that’s it….I set it up mostly for the registry discount so I could buy things myself but I am really unsure about whether or not it’s tacky. What do you think?

  8. As always you look lovely! Can’t wait for baby boy to be here.
What show will u be on with Steve Harvey?

  9. Love Love, did you need a slip? There is only a XS left, but thinking about trying it for my June shower. I am a XS/S pre belly but my boobs went from a B to a D and a 32 to 34 band 🤷🏻‍♀️ so do you think there will be enough room for my lovey Momma boobies in the XS?
