There’s literally no way to diagnose it, except for when they put the injection into your SI joint…..if it stops hurting, then you hsve SI joint dysfunction. That’s literally the only way to test for it. It doesn’t show up in imaging. The joint doesn’t have anything actually wrong with it to be able to come up on imaging. It’s just dysfunctional. Either too tight or hypermobile.
