I’ve never had a problem just letting my baby sleep in a playpen (bring your own or often hotels have them available). Bring your own blanket to cover the hotel’s playpen mattress though, if you want to know baby is cuddling something clean! I usually just try to place the playpen in the darkest corner of the room, sometimes even partly in the closet helps to keep the light out of the playpen. Otherwise, hanging a blanket along the side of the playpen can help keep the light out. Just make sure it’s hung in a way that it can’t fall into or be pulled into the playpen by accident. A white noise app on my phone helps let baby sleep in the evening while the tv is on. Good luck! 🙂
