Thanksgiving Day Look #2

UPDATE ON 11/25; It’s Black Friday today!!! And my jacket is 50% off and my boots are 30% off! Yay! While you’re here check out my Black Friday post for a chance to win a $100 Visa gift card! I’m giving one away to one of my blog readers cause I LUV you guys! Find out how to enter HERE!!!

Since Thanksgiving Day is approaching, I’m posting multiple looks on my blog over the next few days that I think would be good for Turkey Day! This is a great one in my book!

The base of the look is something I go back to again and again. It’s starts with my favorite white tee. Are you guys sick of me talking about this t-shirt yet? Ha! I hope not because I absolutely love it and this won’t be the last time you see me wearing it. I honestly wear it every other day and own THREE of them in white. Yes you heard me right, THREE of the same t-shirt. Why? Well it’s white and let’s face it white can get dirty, especially when you’re a mom. Molly spits up on me frequently these days. So I want to have multiple in case something happens to one and it gets a stain or something. But I CAN get more than one because of the price!!! At under $20, this is a shirt you wont be sorry you bought! You’ll love it!

My leggings are also a piece I wear over and over. They are only $19 and REALLY great quality for the price.

So that’s the base of my look. A plain white tee and black leggings. This is how I styled it…

I added this cute faux leather jacket that’s under $100. Mine is last season, but you can get the exact same cut HERE, I just think the color is a tiny bit different. But it could just be the picture on the website.

This infinity scarf is super cute and good for mild weather because of it’s light material. I use it as a nursing cover too which is great for nursing moms!

And we can’t forget about these boots!!! I love these boots so much. The color (cognac) is just perfect and I feel like they look super expensive because the quality is so good. They aren’t super cheap by any means. Boots are usually something I feel like you need to spend at least $100 to get good quality. But they aren’t super expensive either. They’re a pretty average price at $150.

The rest of my outfit details (like my $12 sunnies and personal bracelets) are below!

And leave me comments on what you think of the look! I respond to most of them!

  1. I’m wearing the wine colored dress today that you posted about a couple of weeks ago and am in love with it!!! I love your style and the prices are so afforadable, thanks for all the tips!

      1. FYI for folks too – if you weren’t able to get that dress on the Nordstrom Rack site, Herbergers has it too. With the coupon codes they have now during the Black Friday sales, you can get it for close to the same deal!

Thanks for letting us know about this, Ali!

  2. Hi Ali! I love following your blog! I’m a new mom also (my Giselle was born in June). Thank you for all of your fashion advice! I’m definitely going to get that jacket! Thinking of wearing it with distressed jeans and a nursing friendly top in black. What do you think? I look forward to reading your future blog posts! xo

    1. I think that’s a great way to wear it! This jacket can basically go with anything! Because it’s fitted and has a nice shape, you can also wear it with flowy tops/dresses to give you more shape 🙂

And congrats on your little girl! I’m sure you agree when I say that being a mom is the best!

    1. They might be higher on you than on me. But I actually LOVE that look. When I see petite bloggers post outfits with large/really high boots, I get jealous because they don’t fit me that way! Ha!

  3. I bought the leggings and love them! I have a one year old and they are perfect with the green sweater (I bought that too) for storytimes and playdates!

  4. Hi Ali,
This shirt is on sale right now for $14.63! Just curious, is the white super see through? I own no white shirts because they have ALL been so see through lately. Can’t have that being a teacher!

Thank you for posting such affordable and cute clothing options!

  5. Hi Ali! Nordstroms says the leggings run small, would you say they run super small? I’ve recently had a baby and am not quite where I want to be, so I don’t want to get my usual size and end up with a muffin top!

  6. Ali, love this post! I’m expecting a little girl in January — what are some casual outfit ideas for a new mommy? I want to look cute but know it’s going to be hard to lose the weight right away. I live in maternity leggings right now but can’t seem to find tops long enough in the front/back! Thanks for your fashion advice 🙂

  7. Hi Ali,
I love reading your blog from fashion to Molly updates!!! She is the cutest!!! Thank you for making fashion affordable! I love your nail polish color!! What’s the brand and name? It looks like a perfect neutral!

  8. Ali, have ordered several items from your blog; best is ordering the plain white tee and then ordered more colors
Luv you blog; have been long time listener to MYFM too, cute how the two of you each other (Kevin) Happy Holidays

  9. I really like the necklace from BaubleBar that you are wearing with the off white sweater. I am going to get the necklace I think it is so beautiful, but it looks like the sweater you are wearing is not available and they only have red. Boo!

I love reading your blog every day!! You are amazing for posting all of this. You always look adorable in all of your pictures. I wish I could buy everything ha! I also just LOVE seeing you so happy. After following you all these years it is so refreshing to see that and I just hope that i find love like that one day. Well, thank you for all you do love you Ali!!

    Xo, Mary

  10. Hi Ally!
Love your blog and style. I’ve loved your fashion since your Bachelor days. Just curious, what size of these leggings do you wear?
    Thanks!
    Ashley

  11. I am obsessed with this entire look! Your posts inspire me to find the time to put cute looks together. Life gets pretty busy with my 2 little girls. My favourite part of today’s outfit is the scarf. It looks very comfy and I agree that it would be very helpful when nursing my baby. Keep the fun, cute and casual mommy looks coming!!

  12. Love your blog, if it weren’t for your blog, I wouldn’t have a wardrobe! Thank you for keeping up to date with fashion! I literally have most of the outfits you feature on your blog!

  13. I just got the leggings and the t-shirt and both are awesome! As to the questions above – I would defintely size up in the leggings and the shirt isn’t full opaque in white but also surprisingly not that see-through. These will be awesome staple pieces to have in my closet. Thanks for the recommendations, Ali!
