Country Girl – with a City Girl Flare

People sometimes laugh when I tell them that I’m a country girl. They’re puzzled and say: “aren’t you from Massachusetts?!” Yup. I am. And it couldn’t be more country where I grew up. My hometown has one stop light and more cows than people. I grew up riding four wheelers, wearing flannels and cowboy boots, and hanging by bond fires with friends. It was definitely a “country” way of life.

COUNTRY GIRL VS. CITY GIRL BOOTS

So sometime I like to dress like the country girl I know I am! In fact, when I go home to visit, I usually break out my cowboy boots (a pair my om bought me when I was 12 and I still wear today!) and really embrace my country roots! I actually almost wore my cowboy boots with today’s look, but thought wearing the over-the-knee boots, gave my country girl look a little bit of city girl flare!

I love these over-the-knee boots. They might be my favorite pair of boots I’ve ever owned. And they go with almost everything. You can see me wearing them HERE, HERE, and HERE with different looks. My boots are great quality and totally worth the $150 price tag because they will last you season after season! But I found a few others that look similar but are under $100. SPLURGE ON QUALITY

My flannel is by one of my favorite brands. Almost all of my fashion posts are SUPER budget friendly, and I’m really proud of that, but this is one brand that I consistently splurge on. I usually let myself buy one Rails flannel a year. They are just so soft and comfy, flattering, and great quality. When it comes to flannels, a great fit is EVERYTHING. And I’ve never bought a Rails flannel that I didn’t love. Other quick things to note: I’m wearing a medium and this look is breastfeeding friendly!

WHITE OUT

And I decided to go with white jeans today. I like that the white in the flannel is brought out by the white in my jeans. Plus this flannel is long in the back so it covers my booty! I’m weird about wearing white jeans with tops that don’t cover my butt. These white jeans are super comfy, stretchy, and flattering.

What’s your favorite country girl look?
